Clubhouse History

The current Country Club of Buffalo clubhouse—designed by esteemed Western New York architect Duane Lyman and Lawrence Bley—opened in 1926 at the Club’s Williamsville location, marking its third home since 1889. Lyman envisioned the structure to evoke the charm of a 19th‑century mill complex: the locker room appears as an old mill, the lower‑level “Grille” resembles the miller’s brick house, and the boiler house mimics a period stable.

Rendered in American Colonial style, the 47,000‑square‑foot clubhouse features elegant interiors such as a grand entrance hall adorned with French-printed Zuber wallpaper and a variety of wood-paneled lounges and terraces that take full advantage of the scenic Onondaga Escarpment, overlooking the golf course.
